Wilhelm Grundmann founded (chartered) our factory specializing in door locks, levers and hardware in the Rohrbach Valley of Austria in 1894. For over a hundred years the craftsmen at the Wilhelm Grundmann guild have become some of the most distinguished metal artisans in the world. Today, old world quality melds with state of the art form and function. Grundmann is Austria's premier hardware firm and bears the honor of the national insignia for product excellence. Our hardware has won numerous awards for superior design, function and craftsmanship, most recently the Hanover Award for Industrial Design.

With the advent of global commerce, Grundmann hardware is available to clients around the world directly, without intermediate vendors. Grundmann/America serves Canada, The Unites States and Central and South America.

Award winning homebuilder Peter Serebrenik discovered Grundmann hardware decades ago when a client brought the door operators to his attention. He was so impressed with the superiority of the design and the quality of its mechanisms that he incorporated Grundmann hardware in his homes, and eventually traveled to Austria to meet the factory owners. Thus began Grundmann/America, a successful relationship to provide American clients with the finest hardware available.
